Start with the animals. Beef cattle, dairy cows, calves, and sheep and goats each have different physiological needs, and the Gold range has a dedicated formula for each group. Relying on a single general-purpose product across all of them usually leaves performance on the table.
Next, consider the stage or season. The pre-calving transition, lactation, finishing, summer heat and winter feeding all call for a different balance of minerals and energy. Gold Pre-Calver suits cows approaching calving, for example, while Gold Summer Formula is the better choice in the hottest months.
Finally, plan how many buckets you need. As a rule of thumb, allow one bucket for every 15–20 head of cattle or 20–25 sheep or goats, and add buckets for larger groups so every animal gets fair access.
